An American Roadtrip
This time last year, my Dad flew to Seattle and helped me pack up the few remaining possessions I had: a car trunk full of books, a suitcase of clothes, and my bike. We set off on a father-daughter road trip across America – Seattle, Washington to Mt. Zion, Illinois – taking our time along the way for a few adventures.

The Spiral Jetty
I wanted to see the Spiral Jetty since learning about it in art school. It’s the central work of American sculptor Robert Smithson, constructed in 1970 of the mud, salt crystals, and basalt rocks found in the area. It’s a counterclockwise coil that juts out into the Great Salt Lake, and depending on the level of water, it’s sometimes completely submerged. We were lucky to see it.
